Orienteering
Carlow Sports Partnership, working in partnership with the Irish Orienteering Association, has developed a number of permanent orienteering courses across the County and we offer orienteering training for physical activity leaders and teachers. Orienteering is usually done in the woods, hills or parks, with the participants on foot. It is a sport for everyone and is something that can be easily learnt by people of all ages and abilities. Orienteering develops many skills including problem solving, team work, decision making and self-awareness.

Photo Orienteering
Step by step approach to Photo Orienteering in Tullow
- Download the Map Run App using the QR Code available from Tullow Library, R93XD93 on the notice board or ask at the desk. Ensure you allow location to be used by the app.
- Download the photo clues sheet here Tullow Heritage Photo O or take a copy from the library.
- Create your user profile in the app
- Click the drop down list on the top right of the app and select CheckSites
- Enter the code for the Tullow Photo Orienteering Course: 442261
- Once the map has loaded in you will be back on the main screen page
- Tap go to start and the map you have chosen will appear with a red dot.
- The purple triangle named S1 on the map marks the start
- Follow the map in number order to reach each of the locations and snap a picture of the heritage site. The app will beep when you have reached a location. The finish is marked as F1.
- Match the photos to the clues and complete the answer sheet
- Return to the library and view the answer sheet to see how many you got right
- Enjoy the course!
