Carlow Sports Partnership coordinate Play Day & Recreation Week Activities in collaboration with Carlow County Council and key local partners on behalf of the Department of Youth & community Affairs.

National Play Day is targeted for pre-school age children.
National Recreation Week is targeted at 12-18 year olds.
The event can be held over a day, a weekend or a week between July and September. The theme for 2019 was ‘Back to Basics’.

Activities should be non-competitive and should focus on free play.
