Wellbeing Playday 2024
Playday is back and bigger than before. Join us for an exciting and fun-filled Wellbeing Play Day 2024 at Carlow College, St. Patrick’s, on Saturday, July 20th! This year’s theme, ‘Time to Play,’ promises a day of creativity, movement, and mindfulness for all ages.
We have a variety of engaging activities lined up to ensure a fantastic experience for everyone:
- Build and Fly Your Own Kite: Create and soar your very own kite in the skies.
- Yoga and Movement Sessions: Energising and relaxing yoga classes for both kids and adults.
- Storytelling with Carlow Library: Immerse yourself in enchanting tales.
- Mindfulness for Children: Learn how to engage kids in mindfulness practices.
- 5 Ways to Wellbeing: Discover simple ways to improve mental and social wellbeing.
- Shadow Puppet Workshop: Kids will have the opportunity to design and create their own shadow puppets, then bring them to life in the puppet theatre with an exciting show.
- Magic Shows with Joe the Magician: Joe presents two of the most watched shows on RTÉjr and on the RTÉ player – abraKIDabra and Dizzy Deliveries.
- Picture Orienteering: Embark on an exciting picture orienteering adventure! Participants will use maps and picture clues to navigate and find hidden locations around the area.
- Old School Games: Rediscover the joy of traditional games with our Old School Games session!

Magic Shows with Joe the Magician
Join Joe the Magician, star of RTÉjr’s abraKIDabra and Dizzy Deliveries, for an enchanting and entertaining magic show! Joe’s captivating performances are some of the most watched on RTÉjr and the RTÉ Player, promising a magical experience for all ages.

Event Overview:
Join us for a unique cycling adventure at the picturesque Duckett’s Grove! The Carlow Arts Festival and Carlow Sports Partnership are thrilled to bring you an immersive cycling experience that blends history, art, and the beauty of our local landscape.
Led by artists Michelle Browne and Eszter Némethi, and developed with the community spirit of Rathvilly, Graiguecullen, Tullow, and Hacketstown, this event will transport you from the year 1923 into an imagined future of 2123.
Event Highlights:
- Leisurely 18km Cycle: Perfect for all cycling abilities, enjoy a relaxing ride through stunning scenery.
- Audio Guide: Enhance your journey with a specially created audio guide available via the Cycles app. Download the app and listen to stories and sounds that bring your surroundings to life.
- Kids Cycling Options: Activities and routes designed for our younger participants.
- Choral Music and BBQ: Enjoy live choral performances and a delicious BBQ included in your ticket price.

Go For Life Games

Go for Life Games Carlow
Starting this Tuesday at St. Fiacc’s Hall, Graiguecullen – Open to All!
The Carlow Go For life Games kicks off this Tuesday at 12:30 in St. Fiacc’s Hall, Graiguecullen and is open to eveyone. The Go For Life Games is a games comprise of three games, Malai, Scidil, and Flisk:
- Malai: An adaption of the game of Cornhole Events
- Scidil: An adaption of Ten-Pin Bowling and Skittles
- Flisk: An adaption of Frisbee and Horseshoe Pitching
This 8 week program will finish up with a team travelling to represent Carlow at the National Finals in DCU on June 8th.

Soccer Integration Blitz

Carlow Sports Partnership, FAI Carlow, Carlow Garda Síochána and SETU Carlow are inviting community groups, work colleagues or groups of friends to compete in a friendly soccer tournament.
Each registered participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, there will be trophies for winning teams and best players plus live music and food throughout the day. The details are:
Date: 26th April 2024
Time: 11am – 3pm
Location: SETU South Sport Campus
The entry fee for teams is €10.00 and there can be a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 7 players per team. The format is as follows:
- Teams of 5 players (with minimum of 2 subs)
- Teams are required to be mixed (a minimum of 2 females or 2 males on each team)
- Roll on Roll off subs
- Maximum of 20 teams
- Each game will last 5-7 minutes depending on number of teams and will run straight though (no half time)
- Teams will be guaranteed at least 3 games
The rules of the competition are:
- There must always be a minimum of 1 female and 1 male player on the pitch
- No sliding tackles allowed
- No studded boots – only moulded boots or runners allowed
- Shin guards are optional
- All participants must be 16 years or over to register
